I Believe in God, the Father, Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth
- Notice the inclusion of “Father.” Without that the creed could apply to other Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Islam)
- When we call God “Father,” we automatically imply relationship. Therefore we recognize that God is personal.

- How does it affect the way you think about God to know that God is personal?
- Discuss modern efforts to replace “Father” with “Creator.” Even though intention may be good, the change takes away recognition of God’s nature.
- Read Acts 14:11-15. Draw contrast pantheon of Greek gods to the monotheism of Christianity.
- Genesis 1:1 Note that even cosmology now points to a beginning of the Universe, which causes distress for some scientists as well as philosophers because of the implications.
